If one could have a soul outside of oneself

My sister would be that soul outside of me

My sister is smart, witty, and worries more

She protects me when she thinks I have lost my way

We debate and disagree as sisters do

But in the end, love conquers all!

Knowing that you are there to catch me if I fall

Knowing that you are there to cheer me on

Knowing that you are there when I ache

Knowing that you are there when I love

I will miss you if we are ever far

Knowing that you are there no matter what

In good and bad you have my back

Gaining similar scars and wounds along the way

What hurts you hurts me, too

Grieving for a loved one in your arms

You are my first call for a laugh

You are my first call when I cry

You are my first call when I celebrate

You are my first call when I give up

You have seen me at my highest and my lowest

We have known defeat and glory

Conquering fears and imaginary monsters

Winning battles and gaining strength,

Together always until the end

Always my sister and my friend!
