Homage to Our Younger Days!Luz EscotoOct 18, 20232 min readUpdated: Oct 14The softest skin that embraced our younger daysOur teenage years all by a longing thoughtWith the enthusiasm and bounce of a gazelle,As inexperienced as a fish in a new pond. Our twenties were full of dreams and goalsThe smooth surface of our faces paved the way,Energy and lust invaded our thoughtsWith volcanoes standing tall for breasts,The sparkle of clear eyes and a determined soulDreaming of reaching the possibilities of the unknownOur thirties are all but a blur,Taking for granted our youth by overworking daysAdding kids and endless duties to the weight of life Happiness found in a microwave pizza boxWith laundry baskets full and dishes up the sky But I wouldn't have it any other way!In our forties, we took a glance at the pastRealizing that we had traveled far,Too busy to see the scenery along the wayFighting to prevent our youth from slipping away. While trying to make amends and correct mistakes. In our fifties, we were hoping to know more. With experience comes wisdom but uncertainty as wellThe heat of the sun now resides within The pebbles of sweat dripping even from our soulThe nights have become a dreamless land Trying to keep at bay the ugly head of menopause. We reluctantly but gratefully entered this milestoneDespite the efforts to stop the ticking clock,Wanting to use the lessons gathered along the wayThere is no hiding from the years painted on our faceStill holding tight to our younger days.Eager and thankful for what comes nextThe graceful gazelle in us is still alive and well!Passionate and sexy despite the wrinkles earned along the way!
