Don't pretend to be a friend in order to belittle me.

Don't give me advice if all you want is to see me fail,

Don't remind me of past failures to deflate my spirit

The smile you wear is not sincere; it is not very hard to tell.

I have always chosen love and compassion,

But, despite my kindness, you treat me with cruelty and disdain.

I can see who you are as clear as daylight,

I can see your intentions from a mile away

I recognize the smell of a rotten friendship

I recognize the taste of a poisonous phrase,

I will keep my distance while playing this game.

My passion and strength are enduring and unchanging,

Your condescending words won't discourage me or break me!

Thank you for the lesson on hypocrisy and pretense,

I am forced to learn this lesson that I don't want to take,

A lesson that I need, and I reluctantly accept,

Not for me to use with others,

But to know how to deal with insincere people like yourself!
